On June 9th of 2008 we signed a lease with the owner of the property to open up the range that you see today. The Mackinac Straits Shooters Association in that time has repaired the 200 yard berm, the 100 yard berm, along with the pistol range. A clubhouse that we purchased from the St. Ignace Area School system was relocated to the range site. shooting benches with seats were added to each of the three shooting areas. We have had a turkey shoot, military rifle shoot, and a .22 rifle competition. We have had two concealed weapons courses, as well as a hunter's safety course, with much more planned for the year ahead!

The Mackinac Straits Shooters Association has qualified firearm instructors and National Rifle Association qualified range safety officers on-site during events. This is Just the beginning as there are many more projects ahead for the club and you the members. This is where we need your help! to organize up coming events and to help with the projects that need to be done on the grounds.
